President Bola Tinubu has extended condolences to elder statesman and former Minister of Defence, Professor Iya Abubakar, over the death of his wife, Hajiya Ummu Abubakar.
Hajiya Abubakar, who was also the mother-in-law of the National Security Adviser, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, passed away in Abuja, at 78 years.
President Tinubu praised the deceased for her devotion to God and commitment to family values in a statement released on Thursday by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, stating that the deceased would be remembered for her good actions.
The President implored her family to uphold the good reputation she left behind and prayed for God’s mercy to be shown to the deceased.
“President Bola Tinubu commiserates with the elder statesman and former minister of defence, Professor Iya Abubakar, over the passing of his wife, Ummu Abubakar.’
“The President states Hajiya Ummu Abubakar will be remembered for her devotion to God and dedication to family values.
“President Tinubu prays for God’s mercy on the departed and urges her family to maintain the good name she left behind,” the statement reads.
