Last Saturday, in the Mairuwa community of Faskari Local Government Area, Katsina State, terrorists raided the home of Alhaji Lado Mairuwa and killed him and his neighbor, Sani Abdullahi, in cold blood.
Governor Dikko Radda termed the act “callous” and “savage” during a visit to the families on Monday.
According to Lado’s 18-year-old son Umaru Abdulhamid, the bandits also kidnapped one of Lado’s wives and his 14-year-old daughter during the attack.
During the condolence visit, he informed Abdullahi Garbage Faskari, Secretary to the Katsina State Government (SSG), who was representing the governor, that “the armed men, who were many, suddenly crashed into the premises of our house around 8pm while we were observing the evening prayer.”

Sani Abdullahi, our neighbor, was also shot and killed by the gunmen as he stepped outside to call for assistance. My younger sister Maryam Abdulhamid and my stepmother Hajya Rabi were abducted by them, and we are yet to hear from them since.
