Five persons suspected to be kidnappers have been arrested by the police in Plateau state.
Three of the suspects identified as Abba Sa’eed, Kabiru and Abdullahi Kabiru were said to have abducted a six-year-old boy named Aliyu Aminu at the Angwa Rogo Area of Jos and demanded the sum of twelve million naira from his father before they could release him, while the other two suspects were said to have abducted a 56-year-old woman and her daughter in Wase Local Government Area of the state and took them into the bush..
Luck, however, ran out of the suspects when the police arrested them in their hideouts.
The Plateau State Commissioner of Police, Mr Austin Agbonlahor, who paraded the suspects at the Command’s headquarters in Jos on Monday said, “On receipt of the information, detectives swung into action and mobilised to the Komboloro bush where the suspects were tracked and the victims rescued unhurt without payment of any ransom.
“They have confessed to the crime and will be charged to court soonest after our investigation is concluded.”
Agbonlahor also said his men recovered 115 cows rustled by five armed men in Jos South Local Government Area but the rustlers fled when they noticed that security personnel were closing in on them.
He said, “We want to inform you that the recovered cows belonging to one Mallam Abdullahi have been handed over to him while efforts are being intensified to apprehend the fleeing suspects.”
