A yet-to-be-identified woman died on Friday in a tricycle in the Isheri, Idimu area of Lagos State.
According to information obtained, the woman boarded the tricycle along the Isheri-Igando Road and was travelling to the Isheri end of the area.
The tricycle rider reportedly informed the deceased that she had arrived at her destination after reaching her bus stop.
The rider was startled to find out that she was not responding and that she had become lifeless.
The eyewitness wished to remain anonymous because of the delicate nature of the occurrence.
She made it known that the rider caught the attention of onlookers, who hurried to the spot and discovered the passenger had stopped breathing.
He said, “I was close to the Isheri bus stop when I heard the tricycle rider shouting for help. When we moved close to the spot, we saw a woman placing her head on the middle of the barricade of the tricycle unresponsive.
“The rider said he was supposed to drop her at Isheri which is the last bus stop for tricycle riders along the area and when they got there, the rider expected her to step out and pay her fare only to find out that she wasn’t responding. That was when he raised the alarm. The place was crowded as it appeared strange.”
Another eyewitness, going by the name Sodiq, stated that while numerous locals attempted to revive her, all of their attempts were unsuccessful.
He continued by saying that when the police showed there later, everyone had to leave the area right away.
He said, “People tried their best to see if they could revive her but could not. It was not too long that the police arrived and the people around had to leave the spot to avoid being implicated.”
“Some said she might have been suffering from an ailment or she could have died of a heart attack,” Sodiq added.
It was learned that the deceased was transferred to an unnamed local hospital, and the tricycle was brought to the Idimu police station.
