Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom has denounced the murdering of a Catholic cleric, Rev. Fr David Tanko.
The Rev Tanko was allegedly trapped by shooters on Thursday at Kufai Amadu in Takum Local Government Area of Taraba State while heading out to Takum for a harmony meeting.
Ortom in an announcement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Terver Akase, depicted the homicide of the cleric as stunning, difficult and grievous.
The representative sympathized with the administration and individuals of Taraba State, especially the Catholic Church over the tragic episode.
The announcement cited the representative to some extent, “Senator Ortom joins his Taraba partner, Architect Darius Ishaku, to require a conclusion to the phlebotomy between the Jukun and Tiv in Taraba State.
“The Governor says no one but harmony can ensure important advancement.”
Ortom encouraged security agents to capture enemies of Reverend Father Tanko to confront the outcomes of their activities.
He supported the group of the late Catholic minister and asked that God awards him interminable rest.
