Claims that the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited has lowered the price of gasoline and diesel at the pump have been refuted.
Olufemi Soneye, the NNPCL spokesperson, called the charges untrue in a statement and urged Nigerians to ignore them.
According to posts made on several social media platforms on Tuesday and Wednesday, it was discovered that the NNPCL has lowered the price of petrol at the pump to less than N600 and the price of diesel to less than N900.
The company responded by saying: “The NNPC Limited wishes to clarify rumors suggesting a price modification for Automotive Gas Oil and Premium Motor Spirit at its retail stations nationwide.
The corporation calls on Nigerians to completely ignore these rumors, claiming them to be untrue.
“NNPC Ltd. reiterates its dedication to maintaining the current level of supply sufficiency in petroleum products throughout all of its retail outlets throughout the nation.”
