The Lagos State High Court in Ikeja, on Thursday, sentenced the leader of a four-man armed robbery gang, Muritala Salami, to death. Justice Adenike Coker passed the Judgment.
Salami was found guilty and was charged on two counts of conspiracy and robbery. The offenses are contrary to Section 299 (a) of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State.
Jide Martins, The prosecutor, had told the court during the trial that Salami, who was arrested on April 16, 2016, stole two phones and two wristwatches belonging to one Okocha Afiam.
He said Salami committed the crime alongside his gang members, who escaped arrest.
Delivering her judgment on Thursday, Justice Coker sentenced Salami to death by hanging.
