An Osogbo Chief Magistrates’ Court sitting in Osun State on Wednesday remanded a 25-year-old man, Lukman Yinub, in Ilesa Prison over alleged armed robbery.
The Magistrate, Mr. Olusegun Ayilara, said he ordered the defendant’s remand till the next adjourned date due to the magnitude of his offences.
Yinub is facing a two-count charge of stealing and armed robbery.
The prosecutor, Insp. Joshua Oladoye, told the court that the defendant committed the offences on April 30, at 2:20 a.m. at Stamosta area of Iwo, Osun.
Oladoye said the defendant conspired with others currently at large to rob one Wasilat Adenike and Ibrahim Sanni of their valuables worth N227, 000.
“The defendant carted away phones and cash, totaling N22, 000.
“He also went away with a set of plasma television, a wristwatch and an iPhone before he was arrested,’’ the prosecutor said.
