American professional basketball player for LA Lakers, Lebron James has confirmed he is not retiring and will return to the courts for his 21st season.
The 38-year-old announced on Wednesday night at the ESPY 2023 Awards in Los Angeles that he will continue playing.
While accepting the award for the Best Record-Breaking Performance, he revealed he will continue playing as long as he can.
“I don’t care how many more points I score, or what I can or cannot do on the floor. The real question for me is, can I play without cheating this game? The day I can’t give everything on the floor is the day I’ll be done. Lucky for you guys, that day is not today.”
James will become the sixth player in NBA history to play for 21 seasons or beyond, joining Dirk Nowitzki, Kevin Garnett, Robert Parish, Kevin Willis and Vince Carter.
