Prof. Razaq Kalilu, the acting vice chancellor of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology in Ogbomoso, Oyo State, has announced the addition of six new degree programs to the university.
This was disclosed by Kalilu to the audience during the closing remarks of the university’s 16th convocation event, which took place on Tuesday within the Great Hall of the building in Ogbomoso.
He emphasized that the institution’s academic perspective was quickly evolving in an effort to fulfill the mandate of the university and the vision of Governor Seyi Makinde, who was visiting the campus.
“The university established the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences with four academic programs a year ago,” the VC stated. We have added six more new degree programs to that faculty this year: Political science, Theater arts, Yoruba, Linguistics, Psychology, and Mass communication. Additionally, a faculty of law has been established to administer a degree program in Law.
“In March of this year, all seven of the recently introduced programs underwent Resource Verification in order to receive approval from the National Universities Commission. As soon as we have NUC approval, we intend to begin admitting students for these programs for the current academic session.” He said.
Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the institution’s Governing Council, Prof. Ayodeji Omole, urged the graduands in his speech to represent the university well.
As you receive your degrees, keep in mind that you are representing your university’s values, knowledge, honesty, quality, service, and progress, rather than merely being LAUTECH graduates. With pride, hold the torch of knowledge, and let your deeds speak loudly about the caliber of education you have received. Omole advised.
