Emeka Okonkwo, popularly known as E-Money, is a Nigerian billionaire businessman who has promised to raise the kids of his late friend, actor Pope Odonwodo, also known as Junior Pope.
“One week has passed since the actor left this world, and his death has left a deep sense of grief that is felt throughout Africa and beyond”, he wrote on his Instagram page.
He continued by saying how much is missed about Jnr. Pope’s friendship and brotherhood.
E-Money promised that he and his family would assist in raising the children as Junior Pope would have wished, recalling his final remarks on the boat, where he claimed he was going to take care of his three children.
“A week has passed since your departure from this life, and in your wake there is a deep sense of loss that affects not only us but also all of Africa and beyond. JP, I sincerely miss having you around as a friend and a brother. Though your absence weighs heavy on our hearts, we find solace in the knowledge that God will give us the strength to go on and preserve the legacy you have entrusted to us. We humbly recall your parting remarks from the boat, “NA ONLY ME DEM BORN I GET 3 CHILDREN NA ME GO RAISE THEM,” and we firmly swear to keep your pledge. The Okonkwo family has provided comfort to your children, and we, as their members, promise to raise them in the manner in which you would have desired. There is a vacuum left by your absence, JP, and we will always cherish your memories. God’s blessings be upon your soul, your family, and everyone who has your heart. Rest in peace, knowing that you are greatly loved.
Recall that on Wednesday, April 10, Junior Pope died after he and his colleagues drowned in a canoe along the Anam River in Anambra State on their way back from a movie shoot.
The actor reportedly had a brief awakening, was brought to the Water Shrine for some purification, and then was sent to the hospital, where he finally passed out.
