To commemorate this year’s Isese Day, the Ogun State Government has declared Tuesday, August 20, a public holiday, this reflects the administration of Dapo Abiodun’s dedication to religious inclusivity.
Traditional worshippers throughout the state will be able to celebrate their special day thanks to the work-free day, according to a statement signed by Kayode Akinmade, Special Advisor to the Governor on Media and Strategy.
In spite of diversity, the statement continued, Ogun State is still a model federating unit with an impressive degree of religious harmony and togetherness.
It urged traditional worshippers in the state to observe the rights of others’ religions and celebrate in moderation, in order to maintain the state’s inherent culture of religious tolerance.
The statement added that prayers are a major factor in every country’s development and urged adherents to use the unique festive season to pray for peace and economic progress in Ogun State and throughout Nigeria.
