Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje, on Wednesday disclosed that the state government is also handling a case of another 12-year-old murdered in the state.
He spoke in Kano while receiving a delegation of the National Human Rights Commission that commended him over his quick response to the murder of Hanifa Abba, a five-year-old pupil who was kidnapped and killed by her teacher.
The governor said, “We are glad for your special concern over the sad incident. As we remain in synergy with you over this tragedy, we shall follow it up to its logical conclusion.
“There is another case of one Zuwaira Gambo, 12 years old, who was also murdered. We got the culprit, as security agents trailed him and got him.
“This case is also going hand-in-hand with that of Hanifa. We are committed to seeing that justice is done.”
A Federal Commissioner in the commission, Abubakar Muhammad, who represented the Executive Secretary, said, “The National Human Rights Commission under the chairperson of Hajiya Salamatu and the Executive Secretary, Mr Tony Ojukwu, deemed it expedient to send this powerful delegation to you and the good people of Kano State over the unfortunate incident of Hanifa’s killing.

“She was allegedly murdered by her handlers in cold blood. We condemn such barbaric acts and we have set all the processes towards ensuring that justice prevails.
“We commend the Kano state Government for being proactive and committed to ensuring justice on the matter.”
