The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) was experiencing a shortage of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) gasoline since Tuesday. As a result, most retail outlets were placed under lock and key on Thursday.
The few ones that sold the products increased the price to over N700 per litre while others retained their N690 per litre amid endless queues.
It is causing a severe traffic jam at Karu and Jokwoyi on the Nyanya-Orozo expressway in the morning. Customers were forced to struggle to purchase gas at any cost from some stations.
The Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) National President, Alhaji Abubakar Maigandi, stated that there was a shortage of supply.
According to him, the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has assured the marketers that the product was available.
