The nightlife promoter, Cubana Chief Priest is facing three-count charges from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for allegedly abusing Nigerian currency.
Pascal Okechukwu, known as Cubana is charged with violating the Central Bank Act of 2007 by allegedly spraying and tampering with naira during a social gathering.
The allegations against the Instagram celebrity state: “That on February 13, 2024, at the Eko Hotel, within the court’s jurisdiction, while dancing during a social event, you, Okechukwu Pascal, tampered with funds in the denomination of N500 issued by the Central Bank of Nigeria by spraying same for two hours, and you thereby committed an offense, contrary to and punishable under Section 21(1) of the Central Bank Act 2007.”
“That at some point in 2020, during a social gathering in Lagos, you Okechukwu Pascal tampered with N500 in banknotes issued by the Central Bank of Nigeria by spraying them for two hours. As a result, you committed an offense that is punishable under Section 21(1) of the Central Bank Act 2007.”
On April 17, Kehinde Ogundare, a judge of the Federal high court in Lagos, will arraign Cubana.
The well-known social media personality is renowned for leading an opulent lifestyle. After working for Cubana Groups as general manager, he quit the company in September 2020 to create Club Xhrine in Owerri, Imo State.
