A disciplinary panel has been established by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission to look into allegations of abuse against a lady made by two of its agents on Thursday during a raid in a Lagos hotel.
The errant officers were scheduled to appear before the panel on Monday, according to a statement released by its spokesman, Dele Oyewale, on Monday in Abuja.
According to Oyewale, the disciplinary panel was established by EFCC Chairman, Mr Ola Olukoyede to investigate the allegations of two errant officers who went astray and assaulted a female employee of the Regional Hotel in Ojo, Lagos.
On Thursday morning, during an early morning sting operation, the officers were seen attacking hotel employees in a widely shared video.
“Olukoyede ordered the arrest of the two officers and has directed them to appear before a joint Disciplinary Team comprising the Appointment, Promotion and Disciplinary Committee, APDC and the Department of Ethics and Integrity.
“They are billed to appear before the Team on Monday July 1, at the Corporate Headquarters of the Commission, Abuja.
“The team would look into the case of the officers and recommend appropriate disciplinary measures to be taken against them,” he said.
He asserted that Olukoyede will stop at nothing to hold the officers accountable for their unprofessional behavior.
