A driver named Bello Lukman was killed in a road accident at Oju-Ore, along Idiroko Road in the Ota region of Ogun State, and at least three other passengers were injured.
The Ogun State Police Command spokesman, Omolola Odutola, stated on Wednesday that the accident happened on Monday around 8:45 pm as the driver was trying to park the car properly.
Three pedestrians, Ojo Isaac, 26, Ladan Musa Moses, and Tunde Adio, were hit by the car.
When Lukman went to drive the Honda shuttle car, which had the license plate TTD 537 AE, it was parked by the side of the road. He lost control of the steering during this process and struck several adjacent pedestrians.
The pedestrians suffered injuries as a result, and they were sent swiftly for emergency medical attention at the State Hospital in Ota.
Odutola said, “Tragically, Ojo Isaac passed away while receiving treatment. His death was confirmed by the attending doctor, and his body was later transferred to the mortuary at General Hospital, Ifo, for an autopsy.
“The accident scene has been inspected, a rough sketch map created, photographs taken, and the vehicle recovered for VIO inspection. Police investigations are still ongoing.”
