The Niger State Police Command has opened an investigation to find and arrest a police officer who is suspected of killing a state resident during a shooting spree while drunk.
Shuwala Danmamman, the Commissioner of Police, gave the Divisional Police Officer of Maitumbi directives to find the officer who was responsible for the sad event that happened early on Monday.
According to reports, the officer from the Maitumbi Police Station had too much to drink before grabbing his firearm and shooting randomly.
In the process, he shot and killed a resident identified simply as Sani in the Angwan-Kaje area of Chanchaga Local Government Area.
