The Nigerian Drug Law Enforcement Agency Delta State command has stated that its abducted personnel have been released without incident.
It was reported that the NDLEA officers were kidnapped on Thursday night, a short distance from the agency’s headquarters, which is situated off Isah-Ogwashi-Uku Road in Delta State’s Aniocha South Local Government Area.
The officers were abducted by the hoodlums who set up an ambush for them at the close of work at around 8 p.m. on the fateful day.
However, Mr. John Kennedy, the state command spokesperson, revealed that the policemen were freed on Sunday night following significant pressure from the agency and other sister agencies. Kennedy confirmed the release in Asaba on Monday.
He said, “I want to confirm the release of our officers. They were released on Sunday night after much pressure from the agency and other sisters’ agencies.
“The senior officer was not abducted along with his orderly as it was reported. The senior officer was abducted, and another officer was abducted in another location entirely.”
