Mele Kyari, the Group Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited, expressed gratitude to everyone for their support after his daughter Fatima passed away.
In a statement released on Monday via X, Kyari reflected on her life and said that he hoped to be reunited with her in Jannah by Allah’s Grace. He also described her departure as happening at her appointed time.
“My daughter Fatima departed at her appointed time and looking forward to meeting her in Jannah by Allah’s grace. While the loss is great by all measures, we remain grateful to God for all his mercies,” he said.
Despite her physical limitations, Kyari said that Fatima had impacted the lives of several people.
“I didn’t know the depth of her connections with many people and what she meant to many,” he added.
He emphasised how her death had united people, proving that compassion and care could cut across societal boundaries.
Kyari expressed his sincere gratitude to the family’s members, friends, family, coworkers, teachers, and innumerable others who helped them during this trying period.
He appreciated those who joined in prayers for Fatima’s soul and offered consolation to the family.
He said, “I profoundly thank our leaders, family members, friends, associates, colleagues, our teachers and the countless unmentioned that joined us to pray for the repose of her soul and for consoling us.”
