The Imo State Police Command has recovered stolen goods valued at over N800,000 through a successful operation, and they have now been returned to their rightful owner.

The recovery was made on April 10, 2024, at around 3:30 am, while agents of the Owerri Urban Area Command were on a routine night patrol along West-End road, Owerri, according to a statement published on Monday by the State Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Okoye Henry.

A home theater, a television, and more than 50 high-target/wax hollandaise wrappers were among the stolen goods that were left behind by alleged shop burglars who ran away when they saw the police.

“After a thorough investigation, the recovered items were released to the CEO of Vivee Couture and Fabric Enterprise, whose store was broken into and looted that same night,” stated Okoye.

“The CEO urged the public to support the police in the fight against crime and criminality and expressed her gratitude to the Commissioner of Police and the Area Commander for recovering some of the stolen items.”

Okoye gave the assurance that measures are being taken to apprehend the fleeing suspects and prosecute them.
