Over 300 inmates escape, vehicles, other properties destroyed In Kuje Prison Attack
More than 300 inmates have reportedly escaped the Kuje Custodial Centre, Federal Capital Territory following the attack on Tuesday.
A prison source who spoke under the condition of anonymity confirmed that over 300 persons inmates escaped during the attack by gunmen.
The source claimed the attackers used bombs to forcibly gain control of four entry and exit points.
“They operated for over 2 hours and 45 minutes more than; took over the Kuje prison with GPMGs, bombs, RPGs, many rifles” says the source.
Recall this custodial centre houses former governor Jolly Nyame of Taraba state; Hon Farouk Lawan, a former member of the House of Representatives and embattled super cop, Abba Kyari.
