For weeks unending, fuel scarcity lingered in every part of the country, and commuters have continued to lament the increase in transportation fares by more than one hundred percent both within and outside the city.

In almost every State, long queues continue to form along major fuel stations, causing heavy traffic gridlock on major roads.

In Oyo state, the situation is no better than in other states. Some residents wake up in the wee hours of the morning to go queue at fuel stations just to be able to get fuel.

Speaking on the situation while featuring on Freshfm’s live programme, Situation Room, Commissioner for Works and Transport, Prof. Daud Sangodoyin said the oyo state government is striving to cushion the effect of the situation on residents adding that the new buses purchased would be rolled out soon upon directives.

The commissioner also disclosed that about 86km of road have since been completed by the state government which include the 9.7km Saki t township road, 65km Moniya Ibadan road among others.
