The President of the Senate, Dr. Bukola Saraki and the Governor of Delta State, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, are currently in a closed-door meeting at the Government House, Asaba.
This is the first time Saraki will be visiting Okowa, his former colleague at the Government House since his defection from the ruling All Progressives Congress to the opposition Peoples Democratic Party.
Saraki, who arrived unannounced was received by the governor and the state chairman of the PDP, Olorogun Kingsley Esiso.
It was learnt that the meeting is not unconnected with his rumoured presidential ambition in 2019 on the platform of the PDP.
The Senate President had since his defection to the PDP consulted prominent leaders in the country including former President Olusegun Obasanjo and a former military President, Ibrahim Babangida.
As of the time of filing this report, the duo had spent over 30 minutes discussing.
